How to monitor your breathing

We all want to make sure our smiles do us justice. Whitening your teeth is only part of the confidence to smile, but what about your breathing, is it as fresh as you would like it to be?

The breath of trust

Wondering if your breath is fresh or not? Try this simple test, but be warned that this can be a surprise.

Lick your wrist with the back of your tongue (don’t make it look a little weird!). Wait about 30 seconds for the saliva to dry, then rub your wrist. What smells will be experienced by the people who speak to you. If you’re not sure what you like about what you find out, check out some of our blog posts.

You have already tried The Breath Trust Exam and if you are not interested in how it smells, you may need to do a little language cleaning. However, bad breath is often more difficult to observe for various reasons. It can vary at different times of the day and for different people, so a negative test may not be enough to confirm that you are out of breath at other times!

Nobody is particularly good at smelling their own breath, as our nasal receptors are used to it and then stop smelling those to whom they are exposed for extended periods. There are cheap, affordable handheld monitors that recognize some (but unfortunately not all) bad breath chemicals. Unfortunately, the best device for detecting bad breath is right in front of your nose.

If you think you have bad breath, the best (but sometimes the hardest) is to ask someone in the family or a friend to use your nostrils to confirm your fears. A dentist from John Booth in Edinburgh says: “If the possibility of asking a friend or family member is too embarrassing, ask the dentist to check it. We work with patients’ mouths, teeth and gums every day and are excited to help our patients with these problems “

Try this simple breath test and answer the following questions correctly or incorrectly

  1. Bad breath comes from the stomach
  2. Bad breath comes from the lungs
  3. Mouthwashes cure bad breath
  4. Different types of spray can be used to refresh your breath
  5. Anyone who thinks they have bad breath

Reply …….

  1. Bad breath comes from the stomach: Incorrectly, this only happens in a small number of people with very dark diseases.
  2. Bad breath comes from the lungs – wrong, this also happens very rarely
  3. Mouth swarms cure bad breath: False swarms only hide bad breath without eliminating the problem. Mouthwash very often exacerbates the problem as it is due to a high alcohol content that dries the mouth. When treating bad breath, apart from professional care, only two types of mouthwash are helpful: to know that two ask your dentist.
  4. Different types of sprays can be used to refresh the breath and cure bad breath – fake sprays not only hide the smell for a short time, but also as a perfume or shave to mask the body odor.
  5. Anyone who thinks they have bad breath: Wrong, fear of bad breath is recognized in some people who may not have bad breath. This can be quite debilitating for those who suffer from it and cannot be treated by a dentist.
